The manufacturing process of degradable packaging materials made from starch using a twin-screw machine involves the following steps:
 
Material Preparation
 
Select high-quality starch as the main raw material and choose appropriate additives such as plasticizers, stabilizers, and fillers. Weigh and mix these materials according to a certain ratio.
 
Feeding
 
Feed the prepared mixture into the twin-screw machine through the feeding port. The twin-screw machine has two intermeshing screws that rotate at a certain speed to transport and mix the materials.
 
Melting and Mixing
 
During the transportation process, the materials are heated by the heating device of the twin-screw machine. The starch is gelatinized under high temperature and pressure, and fully mixed with other additives to form a homogeneous melt.
 
Extrusion
 
The molten material is extruded from the die of the twin-screw machine to form a continuous sheet or other shapes. The die can be adjusted according to the required product shape and size.
 
Cooling and Shaping
 
The extruded material is cooled by air or water to solidify and form the final degradable packaging material. It can be further cut, folded, and other post-processing operations as needed.
